Princess and the Pea
A small project I am working on. Her character is set during the 14th century. So I wanted to design her with the renaissance beauty features such as a full figure, large forehead, thin eyebrows and fair hair. Her appearance after all in the story is the reason why the prince and his mother think she is royalty. (But is she?)
Character Designs
Spider Web - an original story that I am also currently in the process of developing. The spider is such a complex creature to approach with its many legs and eyes. But I wanted to play around with shape and colour for this character. How can I make the spider appear more friendly or weird.
Chalk Stream
This character was the main protagonist for my final major project. She was created from a piece of music. Her character is built on notes and different instruments. The story is based loosely on 'The Water-babies'. She falls into a chalk stream and shrinks. She is a soft character with a quiet strength.

Chalk Stream
Tadpoles and Eels were a few of the creature characters that I had to design for my final major project at uni. These were creatures that lived in unique English Chalk Streams. A magical place. One thing that I love doing is making the ugly pretty and the pretty ugly. That is, to an extent to explore character and give these creatures depth and let their different characters appear.
British folklore and Wind knots - BBC RADIO 4
This character, known as the wind witch, was created for an animation for the BBC Radio 4 Weather and Britain series. We wanted the wind witch to be more pagan or celtic. More like a creature or animal that is apart of the landscape. She has large ears to hear the calling of the wind. She is both good and evil.
Japan Parade
These two Japanese characters were created after a trip to Japan. I watched a parade of men in Kyoto in the hundreds perform the ancient parade during a typhoon. I tried to capture some of the different people I spotted and who they were.
Anteater character designs. A creature that is so bizarre but so striking. I wanted to explore shape for this laidback Anteater.

RSA - Women and Design - 2015
These two women were apart of a animation that focuses on women's right and design. The same woman was used for each character but hair and clothes changed (one woman to represent them all).
A few snails that were to appear in an animation of my sisters. They were apart of a parade at night. I wanted them to be mystical and simple enough to create for her animation. They have decorated themselves with moss.
A wacky and enthusiastic art teacher. She is one that lots of people have known. I wanted her to be full of life and movement. To show lots of expression and passion.

Pleasant Pheasant
Pheasants are such colourful and beautiful creatures. The males have so much colour. I wanted to create a gentlemen of the country bird that is arrogant and confident!
Fish and Men
A young fisherman, obsessed with the hunt of a mermaid. He believes they're out there. A little character design I created to be modelled in 3D.
